Resin sand casting is a sand casting process that uses resin as a binder. By optimizing the sand mold formula and curing technology, it effectively isolates the chemical reaction between the high-temperature molten metal and the mold, reducing defects such as sand adhesion and porosity in the casting. It is suitable for precision casting of various materials such as cast iron and alloy steel. This process uses resin sand molding, resulting in high-strength sand molds with good collapsibility, enabling the production of complex structural castings with few or no risers. Computer-aided design further enhances precision.

 

Originating in the 1950s, this process initially used furan resin as the main binder. Over decades of development, it has evolved into a complete technical system encompassing molding, melting, pouring, and post-processing. Modern resin sand casting, by controlling parameters such as raw sand particle size and resin ratio, combined with recycled sand recycling technology, is widely used in fields such as automotive engine blocks and machine tool castings, and is gradually upgrading towards intelligent and environmentally friendly processes.
